Welcome (2mins)

Say: Welcome to Connect Week! We are excited to talk about how to connect to our churches, connect to the Lord and connect with our friends here at First Priority! Who got a chance to go to church this week?…. Awesome!

Say: Today we are going to play Giants, Wizards, and Elves! This is a fun game that works similarly to Rock, Paper, Scissors. If you want to be a Giant, stand on your tippy toes, raise your arms like a giant, and make a menacing growling noise: “Rarrr!” If you want to be a Wizard, wave your fingers as though you’re casting a magical spell, and make a magical noise: “Shaazaam!”and if you want to be an Elf crouch down very low, cup your hands around your ears, and make a high pitched elf noise: “Eeeee!”

Make sure everyone knows the motions and sounds. Feel free to practice until everyone knows how to become each character.

Say: Now let’s split into two teams, you will take a second before each round to huddle and a s a team and decide which character you will be. Giants beat elves, because giants are able to “squash” elves. Elves beat wizards because they outsmart them. Wizards beat giants because they are able to zap them with their magic spell. If both teams show the same character, no one wins.

Give each team on half of the room, have them line up across the room in the center a couple feet away from each other.

Say: When I count to three you will display your character. The team that loses the “fight” will try to run back and touch the wall on their side of the room. The winning team will try to tag them. If you are tagged you are “out” and must sit out the following rounds. The first team to eliminate all of their opponents wins. Ready. Set. Go!

Play a few rounds if time permits.

Connect To God (7mins)

Do you remember the day you came to Jesus? What an amazing experience! Even if it was recently you probably look back and remember what it was like the first time you heard the Good News of the GOSPEL! Every one of us has experienced brokenness from sin in our life, and when Jesus saves us from that, it is so relieving to be able to rest knowing Jesus looks on us with love and wants to mend our brokenness.

Part of being a follower of Jesus is helping lead others into a life-changing with Jesus! The Bible encourages us to:

Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment -Jude 1:23

It’s not just those who are gifted evangelists, or pastors who are called to share the GOSPEL, all followers of Jesus should help rescue others by pointing them to Jesus! We should be looking for ways to share the message of the Gospel with others!

Our story is our most powerful witnessing tool! When we share the GOSPEL with the 3Crowns, we are not just sharing the story of Jesus, we are sharing OUR STORY. If Jesus has changed our life, we should have a deep desire to see our friends lives changed as well! When we get a good deal or a coupon for something we want to tell everyone about it, when we discover new music or a new tv show to binge watch we tell others about it, we even insta-twit-face-tumble-snap what we ate for dinner! How much more so should we share the story of how Jesus has changed our lives! Jesus told His disciples that there mission was to reach the whole world with the message of Hope found in the GOSPEL:

“Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”  -Matthew 28:18-20

You never know how sharing your story will impact another person. Sometimes Christians may think that sharing the GOSPEL is intimidating and scary, and the truth is, sometimes it is! But that shouldn’t stop us from sharing, because Jesus can change our friends lives forever! In the end, all followers of Jesus should help rescue others by pointing them to Jesus!

Say: Why is it so important to share the Gospel with our friends?

Allow students to answer

Say: Who was the person that shared the Gospel with you? How did that impact your life?

Allow students to answer

Say: What holds us back from boldly sharing the Gospel?

Allow students to answer

New Believer Moment(3mins)

Say: Is there anyone here today that made a decision for the first time to follow Jesus last week at Proclaim Week? If you would like to share about why you made that decision we would love to hear from you today! But, we understand if that’s scary and you don’t want to stand up here and share yet.

Give a moment for new believers to share if they are willing

Say: If you made a decision to follow Jesus and you didn’t get a chance to share, or didn’t want to quite yet, make sure you see a student leader after club today. Also, make sure you get a First Priority Bible!

Have student leaders identify themselves
