WHAT DOES THE BIBLE REALLY SAY?
The Bible Is All About Jesus From Start To Finish!
Say: Welcome to Equip Week! We are so excited to come together each Equip Week to study how to share the Gospel with our friends here at school! Today we are going to talk about how the Bible is ALL about Jesus!
Icebreaker* (Telephone Charades) (8mins)
Say: Ok I am going to need a few volunteers (at least 4) for this game. Who wants to play?
Line the volunteers up facing the left side of the room.
Say: Now we are going to play Telephone Charades. The goal of this game is try and get the last person in line to guess the clue that we give to the first person in line. When you receive the clue you will act it out for the next person in line. Just like charades there is no talking or making noises. Continue to face forward without looking around until the person behind you taps you on the shoulder.
Ask the first person to turn around to see the first clue to be acted out. Reveal the clue to the person, and display the clue to the rest of the students as well by writing it on the board strategically so that the participants can’t see it.
The first person turns around and taps the next person in line on the shoulder. He or she then acts out the clue The second person then taps the third person and acts out his or her understanding of what was acted out. This process continues until it reaches the last person in line, who must guess what the action is.
Some clue suggestions:
*A nerd’s first date
*A cat bathing itself
Say: Many people struggle with understanding the Bible. On surface it can seem like a random collection of old writings, and depending on which version we read from is can be very confusing. But the Bible is so much more than just a collection of writings. The Bible reveals to us the truth about where we come from, why we are here and what our future will look like. Here is what we are going to learn about the Bible today: The Bible is all about Jesus from start to finish!
After Jesus had risen from the dead Luke tells us about an encounter Jesus had with a couple of his disciples walking along the road to Emmaus. Their Lord had been brutally murdered on the cross and the disciples were confused, unable to piece it all together. But along comes Jesus in disguise, they don’t recognize Him, and He opens their eyes to see that the whole of Scripture is really about him:
“Then Jesus took them through the writings of Moses and all the prophets, explaining from all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.” -Luke 24:27
Luke tells us that their “hearts burned within them” as their minds were opened. Knowing Gods plan of salvation comes from knowing the entire story of the Bible. The Gospel doesn’t just happen in the New Testament. The entire story of the Bible is about Jesus and God’s plan to rescue us and bring us close to Himself. When we understand that all of the Bible is about Jesus, many of the passages that may have confused us begin to make sense. God, from the very beginning, had a plan to send Jesus to the world to rescue sinners who need Jesus to heal their brokenness and redeem them.
The Bible is filled with history, poems, wise advice, songs, and even prophecy. Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy show us God’s law that we could never live up to. They show us how hard it would be to live a perfect life the way God requires us to. That’s why we need Jesus to save us from our sins. Books like Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel help us anticipate Christ by showing us that there is something we need that only Jesus can ultimately fulfill. Job, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes compel us to look to Christ for meaning and for the ability to live wisely. The stories of people God walked with in the Old Testament invite us to look for a prophet who is greater than Moses, a priest who is greater than Aaron, and a king who is greater than David. In them we see the signs that point to Jesus! The Bible is all about Jesus from start to finish!

3 Crowns Training (7mins)
Say: Did anyone get a chance to share 3Crowns this week?
If so let them share their experience for a moment.
Say: We start off the 3 Crowns Gospel Strategy by sharing with people about how the story of the Bible is unique. It is the greatest book ever written! It wasn’t just written by man, it was inspired by God. It was written over 1500 years, by 40 different men, on 3 different continents in 3 different languages, but is consistent in it’s message that God loves us and wants us to know Him!
“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.” -2 Timothy 3:16

Show Video 1 “Sketching the Kingdom Story”
Say: Lets break into pairs, everyone make sure you have a blank piece of paper and a pencil. Imagine that your partner is a friend who has never heard the Gospel. Take turns and practice sharing the 3 Crowns Gospel Presentation with your partner. Remember to share with them that The Bible is all about Jesus from start to finish!
Given them a few minutes to practice.
In-Prayer Time (5mins)
Handout the prayer cards and have the student list five names of school friends that they know are not Christians.
Say: Fill out these cards with the names of five friends who you know don’t know Jesus. We are going to spend a few minutes praying for these friends that they would come to Proclaim Week to hear the GOSPEL and that the Lord would work on their hearts and reveal Himself to them!
Take a couple minutes to allow the students to pray for their friends.
Planning Time (5mins)
Say: What are some things we can do to make next week’s Proclaim Week the most effective it can be?
Let students share a few ideas.
Ex: (Posters with arrows that point people to the club saying “Free Pizza” on them, students can stand in the hallway and twirls them!)
Say: It is important to invite our friends to come out next week to hear the GOSPEL! We will have a party with food and games for them to enjoy. During the party –SPEAKERS NAME- will share the GOSPEL in a clear way and give your friends the opportunity to make a decision to follow Jesus!
Prepare the students for next week’s Proclaim Week. Make sure there are posters up and an announcement submitted to be made over the pa/tv or however announcements are communicated at your school. (The teacher sponsor can help with this).
Display announcement slides
Say: We have lots of different church options if you don’t have a home church check out the ones here on the screen. If you don’t see your church listed let me know. We will see you next week at Equip Week! We are excited to have you join us as we discuss the question of “What is Truth?” Be sure to be there… and feel free to invite some friends!
